Dr. Cindy Gordon is the Founder of Helix Commerce International Inc., a company specializing in business innovation, collaboration commerce, and talent management service solutions, helixtalent.com . Prior to starting Helix, Cindy was a Partner with XDL Intervest, a venture capital fund which invested in early stage eCommerce companies. She has also held senior executive and partnership positions with Accenture, Citicorp. Nortel Networks, and Xerox. In her role with Accenture, Cindy was a Global Practice Leader in their knowledge and change management practice and eBusiness Practice. During her tenure with Xerox, she held roles as Senior Director and General Manager Outsourcing Services, Sales and Service Operations, Professional Services, and Total Quality. Prior to joining Xerox, Cindy was a senior director of Strategy for Nortel Networks and was also a prior senior executive with Citicorp. In addition Dr. Gordon is an active board director or board advisor in both for profit and not for profit organizations.

Cindy currently sits as a board director or board advisor to: Eloqua, QuickPlay Media, MedWorxx, Talcura, and View 22. Past Board Roles include: Atlantis Technologies, BubbleShare, Cquay, Got Marketing, Kamoon, Mongoose, Novator Systems, Open Lava, PinPoint Selling and Xaplica. Cindy is a member of the Toronto Angel Group and supports early stage companies accelerate their growth. She was also the Founder and Chair of the CEO Fusion Center, a not for profit organization to help accelerate early stage companies. Her not for profit board experience includes: National Director for CATA (Canadian Advanced Technology Association (CATA), Past Executive Director of The Canadian Stage; Past Executive Director, The Strategic Leadership Forum; Past President of Xerox Women's Alliance; Past Founding Director, First Tuesday Canada; Past Chair, Computer Information Processing Society; Past President Toronto Toast Masters; and a Past Chairperson for The United Way. Her most recent book Why Buy The Cow with the Founder of Webex is on the future of Software as a Service was released in January 2008. Her recent book on Winning at Collaboration Commerce published in 2006 was rated as a must read by Harvard Business Press. Her past publication on Realizing the Promise of Enterprise Portals was recognized by Harvard as a must read for business executives due the quality of the case study global research, published in 2003. She is currently writing a NEW book on Web 2.0 and Social Media Technologies which will be issued in Jan, 2010. In addition, The University of Western Business School's new book "Women in the Lead," profiled Dr. Gordon as one of the top women in Canada for her corporate governance leadership.

Wayne Ronhaar is a Senior Partner with Helix Commerce International Inc and is  responsible for delivering of innovation, and enterprise portal solutions to strategic customers striving to innovate or improve their business models.. His expertise is in Global Technology Strategy, Emerging Technologies & Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, eCommerce, eBusiness, and Supply Chain Strategy. Presently Wayne is working on his Doctorate of Business Administration in field of Global Leadership, Complexity and Innovation at the prestigious Grenoble Ecole de Management in Grenoble , France .

Erich Almasy has over 30 years of experience and with over 200 senior client relationships in more than one hundred industries covering many aspects of technology, consumer products/services, industrial products/services, and non-profit organizations. Erich was previously a partner and director of The Boston Consulting Group. He has proven success in helping clients find workable solutions to major business challenges by: redirecting strategy; managing change and organizational development; integrating acquisitions and mergers; and rediscovering customers. Erich has shown outstanding problem solution abilities in diverse corporate settings. He has helped design global organizations and managed reengineering and change management programs for several FORTUNE 500 firms. He has supported more than 30 acquisition and divestiture efforts in industries ranging from auto parts to aerospace to children’s educational software to telecommunications equipment and services. He has published extensively on the topic of Customer Relationship Management and has spoken at a wide range of conferences including: ASIA, Information Super Highway Summit, and Conference Board of Canada. Erich received an A.B. cum laude from Harvard College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Kurt Ash is an Helix Associate and is based in Beverly Hills, California and supports Helix in Corporate Financings, Strategy BD, M&A and strategy support requirements. He is active in supporting Helix CEO Fusion portfolio companies, and Kurt has served the roles of an investment banker, senior level sales executive and strategy consultant for 21 years. His market specialization areas are Information Technology, Media and Entertainment and Telecommunication companies. As an investment banker, he began his career at The First Boston Corporation where he raised debt and equity capital for Fortune 500 Companies and State Governments. Clients included American Airlines, British Telecom, MEAG (country’s largest Municipal Electric Authority) and others. As a senior sales executive and strategist, he has a history of initiating, driving and sustaining revenues through competencies in New Business Development, Marketing/Sales, Business Start-Ups, and Strategic Planning. He has developed and implemented short and long-term strategic sales and business plans, built and managed national sales organizations, and provided leadership and innovation in key account development by broadening the customer base and channels of distribution. Richard Bowler is an experienced business and practice builder: he led the creation of the Roc Group, with two senior partners; the Asia Pacific Enterprise Transformation practice for A.T. Kearney; the CSC Index management consulting business in Australasia; and Butler Cox in Benelux. Richard is an expert in achieving substantial business results from large-scale change in the banking, insurance, and financial services industries. Dr. Mariano Consens is an expert database, XML and wireless technologies, as well as architecting highly secure, scalable, Internet-enabled enterprise systems. He brings to Helix over 15 years of experience in the software industry, holding various senior executive positions in early-stage technology companies, most recently as Chief Technology Officer of Classwave Wireless, Inc. Dr. Consens is a faculty member of the department of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, and is the inventor of a patent-pending technology that Freedom Intelligence (a company he founded) uses to enable high-performance SQL query processing for data analysis applications. Mariano has a Ph.D. and M. Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, as well as a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Universidad de la Républica in Montevideo, Uruguay. 

Peter Cooper works with investors, in operating and board roles, to build mid-market and young companies. He was previously President, Online for Indigo Books & Music, where he extensively restructured market leader Chapters Online (acquired in a hostile takeover), eliminating significant losses and merging Indigo's online retail business. His responsibilities also included Chapters' national distribution operation (previously known as Pegasus). Prior to Indigo he had been a Partner in Pratzer & Partners (now Korn/Ferry International), where he launched the firm's management assessment practice. In 1984 he co-founded Paradigm Consulting, Inc., a strategy consulting firm, after three years with Coopers & Lybrand Consulting Group (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). Before moving to Canada he had been CFO and then CEO of Alderson & Flitton Holdings, a Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed holding company for an automotive financing and distribution group, where he led a turnaround and sale of the company in 1980. He has also been involved as an entrepreneur and investor in the wine industry in the United States and South Africa. Peter is Chairman of the Board of Cedara Software Corp. (NASDAQ - CDSW; TSX - CDE) and also serves on the boards of Hip Interactive Corp. (Mississauga, Canada - HP-TSX), Mobile Computing Corporation (Mississauga, Canada - MBL-TSX), the board of the worldwide Alumni Association of the Harvard Business School (Boston, MA) and the Harvard Business School Club of Toronto. Indra DosanjhIndra Dosanjh has effected lasting technology based change for organizations in Financial, Telecommunications, Manufacturing and services industries for more than 28 years. Indra has held several senior positions throughout her career.  Indra helps clients manage and lead change initiatives ranging from technology assessments and deployments, project rescue services and executive workshops. She is well connected with other peers and experts in the industry to maximize value to her client`s organization challenges.

In her last role at Xerox, Indra was a Managing Consultant within Global Services (XGS), Canada. Her mandate was to launch, lead and manage a National Program to deliver executive workshops for clients and ensure adherence to the XGS Consulting Roadmap. Indra's forward-thinking style led to fresh approaches to existing problems. She drew on her years of technology experience and well-known creative thinking and problem-solving methods to create a roadmap to support client's document-intensive challenges across various industries. Some of her client experiences include: HSBC, CitiGroup (US), ING Canada, Allianz, AXA Assurance, The Economical Insurance Group of Canada, DHL Canada, Securican Pet Insurance, AimTrimark, Queen's University, University of British Columbia. Indra was an early leader in establishing and growing the Xerox professional services organization in the early nineties, which focused on delivering enterprise wide solutions in the areas of document management and workflow management.

As Director of Systems Integration at Tucows (www.tucows.com), a dot company, she led the creation of a Solutions Delivery Organization by introducing proven systems processes and structured methodologies including Project management and Quality Assurance to support a rapidly growing business. Indra was a key member of the founding team of the .INFO registry at Tucows which was responsible for establishing the infrastructure and development of the registry. Indra also facilitated the process to select and manage the hosting provider for the servers and applications including the migration of the systems to the vendor's environment.

She has also held a prior role as a Principal Specialist with Digital Equipment Corporation in the mid-eighties to early nineties. Prior to that, she was an integral team member of the Canadian Red Cross I.T. team that developed, delivered an implemented the first online Blood Information Management System (BLIS) nationally.

Indra received her MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and she studied Computer Studies at De Montfort University in the U.K. She has completed her LSS Green Belt Training and has acted as Project Sponsor for Black Belt initiatives at Xerox. She is a popular speaker at various Technology conferences, such as COMDEX including Business Management schools. She actively explores Innovation and Creative Thinking frameworks, Web 2.0 and Open Source technologies and trends. As a social entrepreneur and global traveller, she maintains an ecommerce web site to share her finds.

Amr Elimam has 17 years of operations and consulting experience with a focus on new product development and introduction, business transformation and project management. Amr helps organizations strategically leverage their new product portfolio and maximize their return on improvement programs. Amr brings in extensive experience in starting new operations and developing organizations and processes to enable growth through new products and technologies. He also provides insight and helps organizations uncover key business issues, and leads the development and implementation of comprehensive solutions and improvement programs. Amr helps organizations maximize return on their project portfolios through the building of internal consensus and putting in place mechanisms to improve collaboration between organizations, their customers, suppliers and industry partners. Amr received a B.Sc. of Mechanical Engineering from the American University and worked for leading organizations in operations and consulting such as Procter and Gamble, M&M Mars and KPMG Consulting. Amr is passionate about traveling and exploring the outdoors.

Nancie Evans specializes in applying a knowledge-based approach to the implementation of large-scale change initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, enterprise systems, and the introduction of new business models. She is President of Impact Associates, a management-consulting firm located north of Toronto, Canada. In addition to her 8 years in consulting, she has 14 years of general management experience primarily within the telecommunications and high technology sectors. This has contributed significantly to her ability to provide clients with practical and implement-able solutions to complex organizational challenges. She is also the co-author of the Sustained Success approach to organizational alignment, which helps organizations to focus and align organizational effort and energy to achieve and sustain high levels of performance. Nancie has a Ph.D. in Management from Lancaster University in the UK where she studied the effect of organizational integration on the transfer of knowledge between firms. She also holds a Masters degree in Adult Education from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo.

Bill Fellows is an Helix Associate and previously was the Canadian lead partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting's Information Technology (IT) Strategy and Management practice. A consultant with over 37 years of experience, he has proven success in helping clients achieve maximum value from their IT investments. He has consulted extensively across Canada and internationally to a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. His private sector clients have involved companies in a broad range of industries including telecommunications, public utilities, financial services, retailing, manufacturing, distribution, broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, construction, and airlines. Bill has a BA Business (Honours) from Bishop's University  and an MBA (Honours) from McMaster University . He is also a Certified Management Consultant (CMC).

Tony Gifford leads the Helix Human Capital Practice and is a seasoned marketer and strategy consultant. He combines an extensive senior-level consulting background with broad experience as a front-line customer-facing executive leader with a strong focus on leading operations and on business and sales development. With over 20 years of experience, he has consulted extensively in the financial services, telecommunications, utilities, transportation, manufacturing and services sectors around the world on issues such as change management, sales and marketing, human capital, communications management, and training and development. Previously to joining Helix, Tony served as Practice Leader of Digital 4Sight's Human Capital Consulting Services and leader of its Global Client Services Team and was also the Canadian Practice Leader for Accenture's (then Andersen Consulting's) Change Management Services for its Canadian Financial Services Practice. He has also held a senior partner position with KPMG in Human Capital, and also with People Tech.

Bill Ives is a Knowledge Management expert and was previously the Knowledge Practice Lead, Human Performance Service Line, Accenture, Andersen Consulting. A consultant with over twenty years of experience, he has a proven track record in helping clients find workable solutions to major business challenges through the creative use of knowledge management, collaboration learning, employee portals, competency assessments, and other human performance initiatives to drive business performance. He has strong working knowledge of numerous portal solution providers, like: Plumtree, Lotus, Epicentric, SAP Portals, etc. He has led numerous KM and portal strategy through execution engagements with a focus in financial services, consumer products, and telecommunication support functions for call centers, sales and marketing and product development. He is an active writer and speaker, and has published over 80 articles in publications like CIO Magazine, Portals Magazine, KM Review, etc. He has a Master's in Education from Harvard, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Toronto.

Catherine KoopCatherine Koop has over 25 years business experience and an 18 year career in publishing with three leading global companies, Catherine has held a variety of management and senior management positions in sales, marketing, editorial, operations, and IT. She has launched database marketing, direct marketing, e-marketing, and loyalty programs before they became the norm, and has been involved with three separate ERP implementations using suites from JD Edwards, SAP, and Oracle. Prior to publishing, Cathy worked in advertising, retail, banking, utilities, and the not-for-profit sector where she also gained practical knowledge in public relations, media, events, and fundraising as a complement to business and technology. In her most recent position, Catherine was the Vice President of Information Technology and Productivity and member of the Executive Team at McGraw Hill, as well as a member of the Global Technology Solutions Leadership Team for McGraw Hill Companies. Catherine has provided leadership and direction to McGraw-Hill Ryerson's use of information and has represented McGraw-Hill Ryerson's interests in enterprise-wide IT strategy development.

Her past responsibilities have included infrastructure, risk management and compliance, IT disaster recovery, portfolio management and governance, change management, partnerships, applications enablement, and strengthening local IT alignment with the local business and shareholders. As well, she has been actively involved in performance management and the execution of tools and practices for attracting, retaining and developing talent. She has a track record of building successful teams for small and large scale enterprise initiatives, succession planning, and individual talent development.

Catherine is a current member of the Board for the CIO Association of Canada and former President of the CIO Association Ontario Chapter. In addition, she has served on a number of IT Advisory Boards including the Gartner North American Mid-Size Enterprise Board, has been on various IT/CIO panels, and has been instrumental in fostering key strategic partnerships within the CIO/IT and business community. Catherine holds a four-year bachelors degree from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Ryerson University Executive IT Leadership Program. She is also a member of Ryerson University's Tri-Mentoring Program which offers mentoring to graduating students, and serves as advisor on a number of community based start-ups.

Sheldon Leith is senior Helix Business Associate. Sheldon is currently engaged at NEC, a global bus transportation company leading their change transformation requirements. Prior to NEC engagement, Sheldon was the VP of Supply Chain Management for Rogers. He brings over 20 years of managerial and consulting experience to Helix, with deep expertise in supply chain and lean operations in the consumer goods industry. Most recently, Sheldon was the Vice President of Supply Chain & Information Systems and CIO of Emco Limited where he spearheaded the development and implementation of supply chain and information technology strategies to support the business strategy. As a partner in the retail and consumer products practice at Ernst & Young, he provided supply chain consulting, operational restructuring services and customer relationship management advice to his clients in the retail and distribution industries.

Chris MacNeil's wide and deep experience with both large multinational and small local firms has helped him formulate his own E-Communications consultancy which rests on three basic ingredients for success: E-Collaboration, Knowledge Management and the E-Learning process (a.k.a Delivery). Previously, Chris co-founded egroup, inc - a company based in Ottawa, Canada which pioneered E-Collaboration and E-Communications within government and private enterprise. He also assisted Cisco Systems in the UK with strategy, development and implementation, end-to-end delivery of internal e-enabled corporate communication platforms and e-learning capabilities. 

John T. Maloney is a veteran of industry leaders Hewlett-Packard Company, TRW and British Telecom. John is the founder and president of the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley Knowledge Management Cluster (www.kmcluster.com) and is a senior advisor and expert resource to large technology companies such as Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Agilent. Maloney also advises start-up companies like Groove Networks and is a Subject Mater Expert for IC Growth, Inc. Maloney is a recognized expert in enterprise computing architectures and inter-firm business ecosystems. He directs and leads large-scale collaborative design and deployment initiatives for companies such as Cisco Systems, NUMMI and Hewlett-Packard. John is a noted keynote speaker in worldwide venues for thought leadership in enterprise collaboration. Marcelo Machado Ph.D. is a Helix Commerce Associate. He is an expert in knowledge, technology, and innovation management. Experienced in the hi-tech business (e.g., Sharp and Xerox) in a wide variety of functions from business strategy to project management, with an excellent record of leading and executing innovation initiatives. Marcelo recently served as a senior consultant with the Brazilian government improving technology and management of complex information systems. He combines strong analytical skills with creativity and excellent interpersonal skills, blending assertiveness and objectivity of the west with the group and relational orientation of the east. Academically, Marcel has a Ph.D. from the School of Knowledge Science of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), founded and first headed by Ikujiro Nonaka. During his studies, he studied innovative Japanese companies such as Fuji-Xerox and Canon, and also studied in-depth Embraer, the Brazilian Aircraft Manufacturer to understand their innovation and commercialization practices. Marcelo is an active contributor to international journals, books, and conferences. He has made major contributions to the Journal of Knowledge management, and recently received a "mention of honor for the wealth" of his research, during the World Congress on Intellectual Capital and Innovation at McMaster University. Additionally, in May 2005, he was referred to as a "leading scholar" by the Knowledge Management Professional Society Journal (spring edition). Marcelo earned a Master's Degree in Production Engineering and Systems at the University of Santa Catarina in Brazil. His thesis researched technological innovation and business strategy of Brazilian manufacturers. He also has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering majoring on electronic engineering and telecommunications.

Peter Marshall is the Global Practice Leader for Helix's Knowledge Capital DNA offerings. He is a recognized leader in workforce performance and enterprise strategy execution domains: business process management (BPM), knowledge management (KM), enterprise portals, eLearning, analytics, employee relationship management (ERM), business process outsourcing (BPO, HRO), and HRMS. Peter was most recently Director, Global Services for Siebel Systems, where he led the ERM practice, and the Solutions & Methodology organization. Prior to that, Peter was Managing Partner of Ideasware Consulting, and co-founder and CTO of Cipient Networks, where he led the development of advanced, patent-pending event-processing applications now used in US Homeland Security systems. He was previously Director of the Workforce Solutions practice at KPMG Consulting, and Workforce Optimization Architect for Cisco Systems, where he designed and implemented a series of breakthrough employee productivity applications. Peter also led advanced application development teams at Disney and FHP for several years. He is a frequent speaker at major conferences, and author on a wide variety of workforce effectiveness and technology topics.

Cal McElroy is both a visionary and a technologist, with 23 years of experience with leading technology companies. He has served in executive management roles and consulted in the enterprise software industry, with significant domain knowledge in GIS and location technologies, telecom operational support systems (OSS's), web services, data management, telecom and wireless technologies. Previously, Cal was a founder, board member, President & CEO of Cquay Inc., an enterprise software start-up. As CEO, Mr. McElroy developed the vision and business strategy for Cquay, raised over $9 M in venture financing, organized a world class team and directed the evolution from a single person R&D project to a 50 person operation. He is honed in technical, professional services, sales & marketing and business development roles with nearly 10 years in C-level mandates, involving corporate governance, finance, vision and strategy. Cal received his designation in Computer Engineering Technology from Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba and maintains his CET status in Manitoba and Alberta.

Ross McLean brings to Helix significant human capital and knowledge capital expertise. Prior to joining Helix, Ross was President of Nextera Canada - a consulting firm specializing in building effective business relationships in and outside of corporate entities - and Vice-President, People Care and Development at Sobeys Ontario. He was also Principal with A.T.Kearney Inc - a Tier One consultancy. Ross specialized in managing large transformational initiatives, co-led A.T. Kearney's global Merger Integration Practice and managed the firm's investments in Financial Services, Enterprise Transformation and PMI. He started and ran A.T.Kearney's business in New Zealand. Prior to consulting, Ross was a Sales and Marketing executive - latterly as Head of Marketing for a billion dollar Canadian company. Ross has lived and worked in Europe, Latin America, Asia and North America.

Maureen Mottonen is a Senior Helix Associate and oversees Helix global wiki and CoP solutions, and also is a partner in their customized market research service offerings. She has helped IT providers make informed decisions concerning their strategies for developing opportunity within Canadian information technology markets for more than 20 years. As a former Vice-President at IDC Canada, Maureen was a key driver behind the growth of the Toronto office from a start-up operation into a leading provider of IT market intelligence and consulting services in Canada. Using her business acumen, analytical ability, and understanding of customer requirements, Maureen established a range of standardized and custom business decision-support solutions to serve the information needs of Canadian IT sales and marketing executives. Today, these decision-support services are widely recognized as the benchmark for market performance measurement by a range of leading providers within the Canadian IT industry.

Jeremy Nickerson is a Helix Director and he has worked on a number of Helix engagements, most recently with a major technology provider - with projects focusing on web 2.0 and Software as a Service provisioning and competitive intelligence. Prior to these projects, Jeremy worked on a North American assignment with Helix to support a tier one enterprise software company develop a North American NPI and marketing enhanced portfolio process capability for marketing effectiveness. Jeremy also oversees Helix's Canadian Dealer Relationships with TouchTown, the leading innovation software solution supporting retired residences and community interaction and communications social media technology solution.
Jeremy has also worked in two wireless startups in product management. Jeremy has also held a wide range of project leadership roles at Nortel; including NPI, project management, business analysis and R&D portfolio operations. His work experiences includes: providing NPI time-to-market guidance to multi-million dollar joint R&D/Marketing projects; setting product plans and market requirements; and leading technical implementation on major new product deployment.
Jeremy has a Kellogg international joint MBA and a University of Toronto Bachelors of Applied Science (Engineering).

James Norrie's particular expertise is in applying advanced performance and project management techniques to complex business problems that require the optimization of people, process and technology strategy to achieve results. These high-risk, high-reward corporate initiatives often drive significant systemic change, the handling of which is a particular strength of his. James has helped numerous firms deal with the integration of business and IT strategy, particularly as it relates to the implementation of major systems such as ERP, CRM, or as a result of a merger or acquisition. In addition to more than 5 years in consulting, James has an established track record as an entrepreneur and general manager primarily in the telecommunications and hi-tech sectors. He is the President of E-Venture Consulting, Inc., an established independent management-consulting firm in Toronto, Canada. In addition, he holds a tenured appointment as an Assistant Professor and Associate Director in the School of Information Technology Management, Faculty of Business at Ryerson University.

Dr. John M. Old brings with him over 20 years of leadership experience as an IT and operations executive in the USA and Indonesia. He has developed strategies for numerous enterprise information systems, Internet and knowledge management projects. As the Director of Information Management for Texaco's Global Exploration and Production business, John was the key contributor to the emergence of a strong knowledge management community at Texaco. John has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Brian O’Neil is a seasoned executive with twenty-five years of international experience in the Telecom, IT and FIS sectors. He specializes in helping organizations successfully introduce new technical products based on his experience in market research, design, management and investment in digital technologies. Companies he has worked with include: Alcatel, Verizon, NB Tel, Mitel, Telesat, Siemens, Texas Instruments, IBM World Trade Organization, Ontario Hydro, the Ontario Securities Commission, Ernst and Young, The White House, SNC Lavalin, Canadian Department of Communications, MDS (Mohawk Data Systems), IRD and many start-ups. He was a voting member of the IEEE 802 local area networks standards committee and the CCITT committee for Encryption when head of marketing for a Canadian common carrier.

Tom Pesut has over 15 years of executive management experience in the networking, converged communications and enterprise software fields. He has led growth to over $1 billion and managed change and strategic transitions in various environments including start ups, emerging growth companies and larger corporations. His career also includes significant turn around and restructuring experience. Prior to joining Helix, Tom was executive vice president of field operations for KANA Software where he was responsible for KANA’s global sales force and the company’s worldwide customer support operation. Previously, he was senior vice president of field operations at MERANT, where he managed global sales and support operations for the company’s three enterprise software divisions and played a key role in the sale of the business. Tom was also vice president of sales for Equant a $1 billion network services provider. Earlier in his career he served as vice president of worldwide sales at PictureTel, where he led the global field organization and achieved $500 million in sales.  As vice president of Americas sales at Novell, he led an increase in revenue from $600 million to $1.1 billion while exiting the hardware business. He also served as general manager of Novell’s Canadian subsidiary where revenue grew from $4 million to $100 million during his tenure. Tom gained his early management experience at Xerox.

Hubert Saint-Onge has developed a comprehensive and proven strategy for building capability through knowledge. He has spent over a decade developing and refining a model known as the Knowledge Assets Framework, which strategically integrates business plans with people management systems, using technology architecture and organizational infrastructure. Hubert is Chief Executive Officer, Konverge Digital Solutions Corporation where his practice focuses on leveraging technology, people and customer strategies. Previously, as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Capabilities at Clarica, one of the key elements of Hubert's mandate was to facilitate the leveraging of the firm's business through the systematic application of knowledge management and learning organization principles. Hubert was also responsible for the development of the Clarica brand. Hubert's key focus in his organizational work is to constantly optimize performance on a sustainable basis. During his six year assignment on the top management team at Clarica, he saw the market value of the organization increase from approximately $500M to $6.8B when it was merged into Sun Life Financial.. Hubert has published numerous articles, has co-authored a book on "Leveraging Communities of Practice for Strategic Advantage". He has spoken at conferences around the world and has recently delivered a keynote address on "Knowledge and Leadership in the 21st Century" in Hong Kong. Hubert holds an Honours BA in Political Science from York University and an MA in Political Science with specialization in international economic integration.

Guus Pijpers is a Senior Helix Associate and also the Managing Director of ePortals, providing consultancy services to global and local enterprises. ePortals serves many national and international clients in all type of industries, including government. He has over twenty years experience in business processes, information usage, knowledge management, e-business, Information Technology and its application in business. Guus is especially skilled in information usage behavior, applicability of enterprise portals, adopting emerging technologies like the Internet and assessing the implications for its usage in organizations. He has an extraordinary knowledge of information and Information Technology usage on senior executive levels. Guus has held prior roles as Chief Information Officer, Corporate Information Manager, IT Auditor and Management Consultant at Philips, Akzo Nobel and KPMG respectively. His over twenty years consulting experiences include work for many renowned companies in Europe and North America. Meg Salter is an expert in change navigation and organizational effectiveness, with over 20 years of international experience. Practice areas include broad based change strategy, focused change implementation and organizational design. Rick Stuckey is a world-class Knowledge Management expert, well versed in established and emerging technologies and with a proven ability to build collaboration competencies within large organizations. Rick works with software companies, many with a strong knowledge management component, providing consulting services involving strategic direction. Most recently, Rick was the partner responsible for Accenture's Global Collaboration & Knowledge Management practice. In this role he was responsible for developing the firm's C&KM strategy, internal and external marketing, development of market offerings, promotional activities with clients and engagement quality assurance. The practice provides services including strategy, architecture, platform selection, application design and development and rollout to a variety of multinational organizations including J.P. Morgan, Ryder, ExxonMobil, and DuPont, to name just a few. At the same time, Mr. Stuckey was also the Global head of the Human Performance Applications group, where he was responsible for determining and building the technical skills necessary to deliver C&KM and e-Learning solutions to clients. He has also made presentations on Knowledge Management at public conferences including COMDEX and KM World. Rick earned an MBA from Stanford University and a B.Sc. in Physics and Chemistry from the University of London.

Dr. José Cláudio Terra brings to Helix over ten years of consulting and executive experience in leading organizations in Canada, USA and Brazil. He has deep expertise in eCommerce business models, specifically in Corporate Portals. He has advised senior executives on strategy development, re-engineering and mergers and acquisitions while at McKinsey & Company and has held senior positions with several large media companies (broadband portals, cable TV, magazine publishing, and newspaper). He played a key role in both the launch of Excite@Home Canada and in the launch of Internet over cable for Rede Globo in Brazil. José Claudio has a Ph.D. in Knowledge Management & Business as well as a M.Sc. in Business Administration and two Bachelor of Arts degrees: in Economics and Production Engineering.

Peter Yong has over 14 years of experience in enterprise software development and management. Possessing a true entrepreneurial flare, Peter co-founded XcelBeam Technologies and CablesEdge Software, where he led product management and business development efforts. Through his work with Classwave Wireless, he directed research and development as well as product engineering efforts to develop a Bluetooth-enabled enterprise product. At Delano Technology, he led product development for the Delano Commerce Velocity Suite, the company’s marquis B2B collaborative commerce application. Further, as part of a B2B e-Business application team at IBM, Peter helped create an electronic link between internal departments of a large government client and external agencies and suppliers.

Brad Arsenault is a senior Helix associate specializing in technology and communications business with a focus on network infrastructure, Internet and Voice over IP services. He has provided both strategic and tactical consulting services to a variety of enterprise and carrier market leaders. Mr. Arsenault has held Executive positions, most recently as VP Operations with Harmony Mobile Networks and MCI Canada. Brad is currently supporting Rogers Communication in a major VoiP program initiative and supporting Helix in its digital capital service offerings.Prior to MCI, Mr. Arsenault owned and operated his own technology based consulting practice where he provided network design, costs savings plans and other value added services to companies such as Cisco Canada, Unilever Canada, Magna Corporation, Mercedes Benz Canada and Allstate Insurance, just to name a few. Mr. Arsenault is a Certified Project Management Professional with the PMI.

Barbara Chomey is a Business Development Executive currently with Nortel Networks. Prior to joining Nortel, Barbara was Vice President, Business Development of Helix Commerce International Inc. With over 25 years of business and technology background, Barbara has extensive expertise in strategic planning, product development and alliance management across both the public and private sectors. Barbara has been at the forefront of creating strategic partnerships with the biggest IT companies in Canada. She has successfully managed Enterprise alliances with Bell Canada, CGI, Microsoft and Unisys across both Canada and the US. She has held an extensive portfolio of marketing and business development positions within the BCE family of companies including Bell Canada and Bell Sygma. This encompassed new/existing product development, strategic business planning and sales and business services management functions. While at CGI, Canada’s largest IT outsourcer and systems integrator, Barbara initiated and managed their Global Alliance Program including the creation of all new enterprise-wide partnerships. This included the North American co-marketing partnership with Microsoft. For the previous seven year, she lead all go-to-market initiatives, solutions development, sales engagement strategies and overall alliance interfaces with the Microsoft operational and partner teams. Barbara was selected by Microsoft Corporate to be a Global Partner Spokesperson for the July ’05 Worldwide Partner Conference in Minneapolis. In addition, she has successfully planned and implemented go-to-market strategies, as well as, led and managed business development initiatives with sales and delivery teams across North America. Steve Crook, a Helix Alumni, is both a visionary strategist and an implementation-oriented change agent, with 18 years of professional experience. Steve has served in management roles in the telecommunications industry, and consulted in the entertainment, media, telecommunications, technology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and consumer products industries. Steve addresses all facets of marketing and sales strategies as well as human capital and organizational strategies. Steve is the founder and President of Steve Crook Consulting, helping clients design and implement the best go-to-market strategies for their businesses, dramatically improving their marketing and sales practices. Previously, he was the media practice leader at ZS Associates, a highly specialized sales and marketing consulting firm. Bill Danis brings Helix over 20 years of experience working with entrepreneurial companies. Prior to working with Helix, he co-founded Greybrook Corporation, which invests in early-stage technology companies. He has held senior positions with Working Ventures Canadian Fund and Royal Trust Enterprise Capital, where he invested in a broad portfolio of companies. Previously he was the Managing Director of an offshore subsidiary of Brascan Corp. where he executed a turnaround, funding operations through the sale of non-core assets. Bill has served on the Board of numerous public and private investee companies and took an active role in pre and post IPO activity for companies that went public on the TSE and NASDAQ.

Michael Hepworth is a visionary and a business builder, with over 25 years of entrepreneurial and strategic consulting experience. He is a recognized authority on customer retention and customer loyalty. He has authored numerous articles on customer issues, and is frequent speaker and subject matter expert for the media. Have successfully lead highly motivated teams in the sales and implementation of large scale, complex IT based projects and solutions in the manufacturing, financial services and telecommunications industries.  Gary is currently working as the Global VP of Sales  at Mobile Computing Corporation.He has had prior executive experience at eAssist Global Solutions Canada Inc, Xerox Cnaada, and IBM. Patricia Kennemur is a Helix Associate Alumni has over 17 year of sales and operations management expertise in both Fortune 100 corporations and start up organizations. She has developed programs to recruit, build, and retain sales teams with proven success opening new sales markets. Trissy is the Vice President of Sales for Mongoose Technology, an Internet portal software company. Prior to that, she worked in the sales organizations of a variety of technology and telecommunications companies. Trissy has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the University of Texas.

Ash Mathur is currently working as a Sales Executive with Microsoft supporting their global enterprise sales services. He is a Helix Alumni of Helix Commerce International and brings over sixteen years of sales and business development experience working with leading organizations in Canada. He has been a thought leader and solution provider to Fortune 500 organizations for IT, New Media and e-Business initiatives. Ash has worked as an Executive Vice President, Sales for the E.Solutions group at EDS, providing leadership for sales, business development, alliances and marketing for IT professional services across Canada.  He participated on the executive steering committee of the company for national cross Line of Business strategy and operations. Ash was part of the executive team that established Telus as a national organization.  As VP Sales for e-Business, he played a key role in launching Telus in Ontario.  With a focus on sales, Ash also participated in strategy, alliances and marketing initiatives. He also has held senior sales positions with Oracle Corporation and IBM Canada.  At Oracle, Ash provided thought leadership for Internet and New Media solutions with the major Canadian telecommunications, cable and network equipment manufacturers. These initiatives included a range of software and services to take advantage of the web for employees, customers and suppliers, including commerce, payment, directories, wireless and ASP services.  Ash has senior professional services and technology sales roles  at IBM with experience working with major clients in the retail, distribution, transportation and public sector.  Ash was instrumental in starting up a new business unit to focus on consumer services, within IBM Global Services. His experience also includes participating on the IT advisory council for York University’s Schulich School of Business.  Academically, he has an MBA, specializing in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science.

Jo-Anne Raynes 
brings over 20 years experience in the financial, industrial and high-tech sectors. She thrives on building businesses and solving challenging problems, particularly in situations of risk and complexity. Most recently, Jo-Anne founded and built CIBC's national high-tech financing practice and was nominated for an Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She has also led due diligence review teams, one of which resulted in the acquisition of the Continental Bank ($5.5billion in assets.) Jo-Anne is currently a member of the Executive and Commercialization Committees of the Ontario Science and Innovation Council, and Vice-Chairman of Smart Toronto. She has served as a Director of the Industry Liaison (Technology Transfer) Office of the University of Alberta, Technology Partnerships Canada, and Innovation Ontario, an early stage high tech venture fund. Jo-Anne completed the Executive Management Program at Stanford University and has an MBA and a MA in Economics from McGill University.

Anne Sado is currently the President and CEO of George Brown Colleage. She is a multidisciplinary senior executive with 25 years of solid experience in operations, business and strategic planning, finance, business development, business process and change management. Most recently, Anne was Senior Vice-President of Business Process and Operational Effectiveness at Bell Canada, where she focused on effective customer management across all Bell Canada Holdings companies. Anne completed the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and has an MBA degree from the University of Toronto as well as a BA in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Catherine Shinners is a Senior Helix Associate and has been bringing Web technologies to market since 1997. In her management, marketing and business development positions at Tandem and Compaq Computer, she led Web 1.0 infrastructure product programs to bring scalable, reliable solutions to the global financial services and communications service provider markets.  Through that work Catherine frequently managed technology and market partnerships with early stage companies. Most recently, for WebEx Communications, a leading provider of real-time communication and collaboration services using a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, Catherine focused on integrations and partner strategies to extend WebEx collaboration solutions value, such as an integration of WebEx meeting services into MS solutions. Catherine has led cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary teams and initiatives throughout her career, informing her current work in enabling high-performance virtual teams through on-demand Web 2.0 collaboration solutions. She has developed and led training for product support organizations, global sales and marketing groups, and has been a speaker at industry organizations on technology and emerging network-based business models. She has also worked closely with early-stage company partner OEMs guiding their product process to deliver branded solutions. Catherine has been a practitioner, trainer and manager of staff using formal product lifecycle process, and developed process improvement mechanisms, such as evolving formal beta programs to early adopter programs to accelerate product engagement customers. Catherine advocates for multi-lingual and cross-cultural education for children; she formerly held the Board Chair at the International School of the Peninsula in Palo Alto, CA, where she resides. She received a degree in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin, while she worked on the team, at the university’s administrative computing division, to implement one of the first campus-wide local area networks in the country.

Catherine Smith is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the United Way. She is a recognized senior executive with a rare blend of strategic and operations expertise. She has a wealth of international exposure (New York, Tokyo and Canada) and expertise in general management, operations, line of business, project leadership and strategy development. Catherine is a team-builder, innovative strategic thinker and passionate about driving customer value. Prior to joining Helix, Catherine was Executive Vice President (Fixed Term and Online Brokerage Wealth Management) at CIBC, where she was responsible for 2 significant business units in turnaround situations, and the merger of one operations unit with another. She was also a member of CIBC's 2 major governance committees. Catherine is an active volunteer, has had experience as a corporate director of several financial institutions and is currently director of two non-profit organizations as well as a board member of Integra and a board committee member of Toronto East General Hospital.

Philip Stern is a Helix Alumni and has deep expertise in developing Business Plans for a wide range of technology-related ventures, including (but not limited to) developers of server and network hardware and software, medical devices, consumer entertainment technologies, and enterprise application integration platforms. He has an extensive background in the insurance and financial services industries, including developing information technology strategies, detailed corporate strategies, Business Plans, and funding prospectuses. Philip sits on the boards and advisory boards of several public, private and not-for-profit organizations. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his bachelor's degree from McGill University. He is currently working on a new book on Homelessness issues. Dr. Elaine Todres is the CEO and founder of Todres Leadership Counsel (TLC), a company focused on corporate governance and leadership. Prior to starting TLC, she was the head of a large hospital foundation, and for ten years a senior Deputy Minister with the Government of Ontario. Her assignments in the public sector ranged from human resources, cultural industries, telecommunications, tourism, to the enforcement arm of the state. She was a leader in change management and legislative and regulatory policy. She published throughout her government career in areas like ethics, pay equity and change management. Elaine is a board director and advisor for several organizations, including: ORT, Canadian Technology Transfer Fund, National Income Protection Plan, International Women's Forum, Toronto Community Housing Corporation, as well as several not-for-profit boards. Elaine holds a M.A and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh as well as a B.A, Honors in Political Science and Economics from the University of Winnipeg.

Neil Wainwright is an experienced, respected entrepreneur and business leader who has founded and successfully led many organizations during his career. Neil has served in management and/or executive capacities with leading technology companies such as IBM, Lotus and Nortel. He has both technology and general management expertise, and has deep skills in understanding how technology can deliver exceptional business value. Prior to joining Helix, Neil launched three web services firms (all of which are still active in the marketplace). He has also built and sold his own software professional services firm, resulting in a very successful acquisition for the acquiring party and zero voluntary attrition during Neil's tenure. His clients included firms as diverse as Ernst & Young Canada, Schenker International and Boston Market. In all cases advanced business management systems were successfully introduced. Neil received B.Sc. Electrical Engineering degree from Queens University .

Jeffrey Walker has spent over 25 years in technology and has served as chief executive of three software and services companies. He currently consults and serves on the Advisory Boards of several technology companies. Most recently, Jeffrey was CEO and President of Accrue Software, an analytics software company selling into financial services, retail, and media and entertainment companies such as Lands' End, Macy's, Kodak, Dow Jones, Lycos Europe, Nokia, CIBC, and Citicorp. Prior to Accrue, Jeffrey was CEO of ICplanet, a HCM technology company founded by Doug Carlston, former CEO of Broderbund. Previously, Jeffrey spent twenty years in information technology and management consulting, primarily with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). While with CSC, he was CEO of a subsidiary, and he launched, grew, and managed consulting businesses as large as $40 million in revenues.

Jeffrey S. Watts is a Helix Associate Alumni, and is now the SVP of Marketing for SAP Canada. Jeff is known for his keen business insight, leadership, and practical experience in building revenues. An executive with over 18 years of consistent achievement in the North American IT Industry, Jeff has significant expertise in sales, marketing and business development. Jeff has practical experience and success in both large and small organizations coupled with domain expertise in all aspects of solutions delivery via both direct and indirect channels. He is the past President & CEO of Texar Corporation, a security software company located in Ottawa. During his time at Texar, Jeff led the transition from a technology driven organization to a customer-focused product company. His hands-on approach coupled with a relentless focus on the customer, resulted in the successful sale of the company in June of 2002. Jeff holds an Honours Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, majors in Commerce & Economics and a minor in Math from the University of Toronto and has completed the Executive Marketing Program at Queen's University, the Advanced Telecommunications Program at the Marshall School of Business, USC and the American Management Association's Management Program.

Don Whitbeck is a Helix Associate Alumni and brings over 20 years of experience working with large companies, start-up technology companies, and corporate turnarounds. His particular expertise is in taking leading edge, R&D oriented companies to maturity with particular emphasis on building core competency in sales, marketing, international distribution, service and finance. Prior to working with Helix, he co-founded Greybrook Corporation, which invests in early-stage technology companies. Previously he was President and CEO of Everyware Development Corporation (ASE:EVE), VP Sales and Marketing with Secure Computing Corporation (NASDAQ:SCUR) and he has also executed global marketing and branding at IBM’s software division, led Digital Equipment’s drive into Canada’s capital markets and trading systems, managed operations for Sun Microsystems Canada, and consulted with several startup technology companies.

HELIX LIFE CELEBRATIONS

Geri Furlong joined Helix in Feb 2005 and worked as a full time employee, until a premature passing away on August 26, 2005. She was a major contributor to the original roots of Helix's Complexity and Social Network Practice.Geri's expertise in Third Generation Knowledge Management, Organisational Strategic Transformation, Organisational Design for Strategic Learning, Organisational Complexity, Systems Thinking, Social Cognition and Social Network Analysis (SNA) were advanced capabilities, and the Helix team will forever miss her many talents, complexity, and dynamic specialization. Her wisdom will be celebrated, and although we had her with us for seven months, our corporate DNA is only stronger because of her many "life gifts."
